When it comes to horse betting, a punter has to look at various aspects before you consider placing your bets. However, analysis makes perfect but it should not mislead you but act as a guide. Horse betting is very difficult and no matter how hard you may analyze each individual horse there can be a lot of surprises. Always try to avoid chancing when placing your bets. Luck will never yield profitable results. For example, betting on sounding names or betting on even horses is a recipe to disaster.

You need to apply math, strategy and analysis before you consider placing any of your bets. For instance, betting on the favorites and underdogs can deplete your bankroll especially during main events. It’s a known fact that the top favored horse has a 50% chance to place or show during a race but placing a top favored horse as a win is not guaranteed.
Therefore, what kind of strategies would you consider when placing bets?

An important factor you need to understand is that horseracing and sports betting are way different. In sports betting, with great analysis and research, you can certainly pick a team that will win. For instance, a team in the top league playing a team at the bottom of the league guarantees you a win at which many punters will place bets on the favorites. If the favorite wins, the dividend is very low than the underdog winning or covering the spread.

However, with horseracing, betting becomes complex. The favorites cannot be guaranteed to win as there are many factors that influence the chances of a horse winning such as the starts. Many horses including favorites tend to be scratched out due to false starts or others will start poorly. Other aspects to look at include the distance of the racecourse, its condition whether muddy, sandy, etc and to include each horse’s previous performance.

A punter can deeply look further in to analysis such as the trainers, the jockeys, as well as other factors but as a professional punter, you need to spread your bets so as to obtain a favorable return on investment. Therefore, you need to consider the effective types of bets that will certainly yield a good return.

Boxes are essential types of bets that can boost your bankroll effectively. Many punters especially the novice tend to think that boxes are only meant for punters with a high bankroll at which this is not true at all because you can play boxes using fractions also known as fractional bets. Fractional bets give you an opportunity to get a certain percentage out of the actual dividend. For example, when playing quartet bets as fractional bets of 10%, if your bet wins, you get 10% of the actual dividend.

Thus, the major types of bets that a punter can look into include the quartet, swingers, and trifecta. Therefore, you main bet should be the quartet bet. You can place your quartet bet as follows:
Floating Banker /any other 4 or 5 horses
e.g. 10 – 7, 12, 2, 9, 15

The floating banker is the horse you guarantee will win, place, or show. This means, in order to win the quartet, the floating banker has to win, show or place then followed by the other three you have listed.
This strategy works perfect for a race with a total of 12 horses or less.

Example 1
In a race of 12 horses, 3 horses have been selected as the favorites this means your should subtract 12 – 3 leaving you with 9 horses.
As a professional punter, you should not select a favorite as a floating banker. According to the odds and analysis, it is wise to select any one of the underdogs as the floating banker. Therefore, your quartet bet could be as follows:
Favorites = 7-4-9
Quartet = 3 | 5-10-8-2-12

According to the odds, I have included all the underdogs and two other horses that I think can pull through. From the above, it shows that a total of 9 horses have been select, of course not playing the favorites and leaving out 3 unselected horses.

Now, from playing quartet, we move on to play the swinger and trifecta. To make it effective, you have to include both the trifecta and swinger combinations to act as a single bet as shown bellow;

Example 2
In this bet, I would have to include the 3 unselected horses as a way of spreading the bets.
Swinger Trifecta bet
1- 6-11-3 | 7-4-9-3   x 10+

From the above bet, I have placed all the favorites as well as the unselected horses and any two from the pool with a multiplier value  of 10x or anything above e.g. 20x or 100x.

For example, if the results come out as 3-7-5-10. Of course, I would have lost the quartet bet but would have won the swinger / trifecta with a winning swinger bet 3/7. Therefore, if the swinger pays a dividend of $7 this would mean I would have won $70, if I had made the swinger& trifecta bet of 10x and for 100x I would collect $700.

The idea that I am trying to put across is that if you spread your bets, there are chances of you wining the large share of the prize. Your main target should be quartet bets at which they can make you win thousands of dollars and the dividend becomes high if the favorites do not win, place or show at which this always happens during main event events.

Therefore, these bets should be played as sets and you can have as many sets as you can but make sure you manage your bankroll effectively.

Each set should consist of a quartet bet and the combined swinger –trifecta bet. Your multiplier value should be consistent with each set as well as the numbers of horses in your quartet bet. This strategy if applied properly can certainly give you a good return on your investment.

Horse Betting Festivals - A Helping Guide For Punters

Horse Betting Festivals - A Helping Guide For Punters

Punters are always looking forward to horse betting festivals / main events that take place every month. Several horseracing events are held monthly and punters are keen to partake in the events as a way of investing their earnings. It’s pretty obvious, with most racing events your return on investment can be very large due to the large pools available as compared to daily horse race meetings.

There are many factors you need to consider when placing horse bets during major events. A major mistake made by many punters is that they tend to base horse racing on luck. Some place bets according to the horses amusing names/sounding names and others tend to select horses according to their favorite number/position.
As a professional punter or you looking forward to become a professional punter, you should never place your bets according to assumptions. Luck never works, if by any chance it moves your way there are greater chances that it will not knock again on your door.   You need to do a lot of homework as well as research for you to be on a wining edge.
Here is a betting formula you should always employ:
Information + Strategy = Profitable Results

Most festivals run annually and one important factor to consider is the previous results of horses that have won on the track as well as its trainers. The previous horses can be running in the current event and these are often the favorites because they would have won previously and they are very familiar with the track.
Therefore, your main key factors would be for you to look at the horses running on the track, their age, its trainers, as well as its recent performance. It is a known fact that the favorites will always make an effort to win, place or show during a main event and you certainly do not have to sideline these in your betting system. However, this does not mean you should not consider the second tier and the darkhorses.

Some horses can be new to the track while others it would be their first time to run over a long racecourse. What you need to understand is that horses will prepare themselves for test run exercises on the racecourse before the event and this is one main reason that makes the odds to change on a daily base. A favorite may not even perform well during it test run exercise and this is the moment you get to focus on the horses that are performing well during the exercise.

Other horses may not perform well during the exercises because they will be trying to be familiar with the racecourse but it does not leave the benefit of a doubt that the horses that perform well during their test runs exercises will certainly perform well or even better on the day of the main event.

 Therefore, with horse racing events, you certainly need to keep updated on what is happening during the exercises before the main event has begun. It’s not about guess work but facts in hand will certainly help you to archive great results.

After acquiring all the necessary information, your next step it to play exotic bets / boxes. Handicapping at major events tend to be very difficult but if you spread your bets there are chances that you will get it right especially when you select the horses that run well as well as including the favorites. Your type of bets can include Superfecta, Trifecta, or quartet.  Having so many exotic tickets can make things complex in a way that you will not be able to yield any dividend from your investment.
